Hello world!

Welcome to my new blog where I’ll be sharing my experiences in building mobile apps for the Apple iPad and iPhone. This is my first attempt at providing something back to the masses on the internet and I’m really excited about sharing my experiences.

In order to provide a bit of context to my posts I think it may be helpful to share a bit of my background. I’m a software developer by trade and have experience with various web-based platforms and tools (PERL, PHP, Java, .NET, HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, SharePoint, etc.). I’ve developed custom, enterprise systems for a wide range of private and public sector clients including several U.S government agencies. Over the past year, I’ve committed myself to making the jump into the rapidly evolving mobile app space and am currently working on a suite of mobile apps to improve the way information is delivered and presented to senior officials within a U.S. government agency.

I’m currently working on a series of posts about the unique challenges of developing mobile apps within a government agency and discussing how commercial mobile app development tools and processes can be adopted even within a security-conscious government agency. I look forward to feedback from the community as this blog grows!
